“Trash is a great resource in the wrong place that lacks anyone’s imagination for it to be recycled for the benefit of all.”
Being widely used for packaging, plastic is one of the main components of solid waste; furthermore, it is not biodegradable, in fact the soil takes more than 1100 years to dispose of it. Some types of plastic, when burned, are toxic; it is therefore essential to recycle it as much as possible. Many types of plastic can be easily recycled, while for other types the process is more complex.
The numerous plastic materials on the market cannot be mixed together, however there are systems that allow the various types of plastic to be automatically separated quickly, most of them operate in several stages separating the different types of plastic materials by density . We operate with liquids of different densities which discriminate between the different types of plastics through floating or sinking. The principle is that of Archimedean thrust which also depends on the density of the liquid in which the material is immersed. It can be operated for example with alcohol, aqueous or alcoholic solutions, water, etc.
